Small Apartment with Big Charm in Aarhus, Denmark — decor8

Hello friends, I’m blogging from the airport in Amsterdam on my way to Boston. Before my plane lifts off, I want to share this beyond lovely little 2-room Danish apartment… It’s pastel perfection! Are you ready?

I saw this home a few years ago when I was working in the magazine world, we were thinking to buy it in for an issue of HOLLY. It really stuck with me and later, I found the home on Instagram. I just had to ask if we could please do a little home tour of this Danish gem because it’s such a lovely urban oasis on the top floor of an old building.

Our verdict on this Dubai-based restaurant’s new premium business lunch menu – Emirates Woman – Things To Do in Dubai

Within a city awash with options for business lunches, Roka Dubai has taken the experience a step further with the launch of its new premium business lunch menu.

Roka Dubai is located in the Opus by Omniyat building, designed by Zaha Hadid, in Business Bay. The restaurant is frequented by royals and celebrities alike, confirming it as one of the favourite lunch hotspots in the city.

Serving contemporary Japanese Robatayaki cuisine, including famed sushi, this urban experience is unmatched in Dubai.

History

Roka is described as “a meeting place where food and drinks are shared with friends and heat, warmth and an all embracing energy surround”.

The award-winning restaurant now has locations across the globe, but it first opened in London. The Dubai Roka was the first international branch to be extended from London, opening shortly after the fifteenth year anniversary of the flagship restaurant on Charlotte Street, London.

Our verdict on this Dubai-based restaurant's new premium business lunch menu – Emirates Woman - Things To Do in Dubai - - Chandeliers in Dubai, UAE

Ambience

Immerse yourself in Roka, surrounded by plants that drape from the ceiling and envelop the walls, this is the ideal setting to visit for lunch. Inspired by contemporary Japanese styling, sleek wood chairs and tables add to the jungle illusion which is ultimately contrasted with impressive views of the Burj Khalifa through extensive windows which flood the area with natural light.

Cuisine

The new Roka Premium lunch menu is priced at Dhs175 per person, served on weekdays, this menu is bursting with flavour and sure to leave you satisfied.

Starting with sake no taru taru, which is Roka’s take on salmon tartare with yuzu den miso, we were very impressed by the exquisite presentation and quality of all the dishes. However, our hero starter was the black cod and king crab dumplings, served with roasted chilli dressing, bursting with flavour these dumplings are yet another reason to return to Roka.

Roka Lamb Cutlets

Our hero main came from the famed Robata grill, which originates from the fishermen of the northern coastal waters off Japan, who would cook on the boast using a variant of charcoals and share the catch of the day with one another using their oars. Kankoku fu kohitsuji, which is lamb cutlets served with Korean spices and sesame cucumber stole the show. Perfectly pink, tender and juicy these cutlets which housed a slight spice, were one of the highlights of the evening.

ROKA

To finish, the Roka dessert platter. Consisting of the chef’s selection of signature desserts complemented by a variety of fresh seasonal and exotic fruits as well as a selection of ice creams and sorbets, this platter is truly Instagram-worthy. Presented on ice, this refreshing and exciting dessert is like nothing we’ve seen before.

Roka Dubai, The Opus by Omniyat, Level 1, Business Bay. For information and reservations, please contact +071 4 439 7171, reservations@rokarestaurant.ae.

Emirates warns passengers to arrive early to DXB airport this July – Things To Do in Dubai

The airport is set to be busy from now until July 12…

If you’re heading out of the country this July, you’re not the only one. Emirates Airline is expecting over 450,000 passengers to travel through Terminal 3 in the first two weekends of the month on over 1,600 flights.

July 2 to 3 and 9 to 10 are the busiest, although high passenger traffic is expected between now and July 12. Anyone headed to Dubai International Airport in the next couple of weeks is strongly urged to arrive early (at least three hours before your flight).

Almost 100,000 passengers are also scheduled to arrive into Dubai, kicking off the summer season and boosting tourism for the city.

In July, Emirates will connect the Al Hosn app with its check-in systems, as well as with your Emirates ID, so they’ll be able to digitally retrieve and verify of Covid-19 medical records. This means you won’t need to print a paper copy of your vaccination, or PCR and antigen tests.

Passengers are advised to check in online, between 48 hours and 90 minutes before their flight. Customers who arrive less than 60 minutes before will not be accepted. Those who opt for online check-in will still need to visit the Emirates check-in counters or contactless kiosks for PCR/vaccination checks.

Gates will open 90 minutes before the flight departure, boarding starts 45 minutes before and gates close 20 minutes before departure. Don’t be late or you might not make it onto your flight.

DHA is now vaccinating pregnant women against Covid-19 – Things To Do in Dubai

All DHA vaccination centres across Dubai are providing the vaccine…

On Tuesday, June 29, 2021 Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced that women who have passed 13 weeks of pregnancy can now take the Covid-19 vaccine.

The vaccine can be administered at any DHA vaccination in Dubai.

Pre-registration is required and bookings must be done through DHA smart application or via WhatsApp on 800 342.

According to the Dubai Media Office, Dr Muna Tahlak, CEO of Latifa Hospital for Women and Children said the authority is continuing to expand its coverage of all social categories and segments eligible to receive the vaccination in Dubai, as per a strategic plan rolled out on 23 December last year.

She stressed the vaccination programme is a major step in combating Covid-19.

She added that including pregnant women in the vaccination campaign will shield them from risks of infection and enhance overall levels of protection in the community.
