Not your usual ‘mall run’…
With the Dubai summer officially here, it may take a little extra mental persuasion to lace up and head outdoors for your daily run.
Thankfully, there are several indoor spots in Dubai where you can get your heart rate up to burn those calories. One such event for the runners in the city is the Summer Running Series and its back for the second time this year at Festival Plaza, Jebel Ali.
The run takes place this month on Friday June 18 at 7am onwards. It is open to runners ages five and above and there are two runs to participate in: 2.5km or 5km.
To enter the run, participants need to enter here. Registration will close three days prior to the event. There will be no registrations taking place on location, so make sure you book your spot in now. Prices start from Dhs115.
If you’re busy on June 18, the next two race days are Friday July 16 and Friday August 20.
After you have crossed the finished line, you will receive your medal and you can enjoy the prize ceremony as you indulge in a complimentary hearty and healthy breakfast and coffee from popular Swedish retailer IKEA.
Additionally, Festival Plaza, Jebel Ali will also be offering promotions across various outlets to all runners.

What about safety measures?
All runners over the age of 16 must have both vaccination doses 14 days before taking part. You can present this either through the AlHosn app or bring your vaccination card along.
To help keep things safe, runners will be permitted to go off in 30-second intervals with only two or three allowed per batch. There will also be marshals placed at certain points to ensure the safety of the runners.
Don’t forget your masks, too.
If you’re heading here by the Dubai Metro, there is a complimentary shuttle bus service every 20 minutes from Energy and Ibn Batutta Metro Stations. You can even catch the bus from the Ibn Battuta RTA bus station to get to the mall.
