It’s no secret that I love to be out East in the Hamptons in the summertime. Southampton has long been a second home for me and my children, and my love for the area was a major influence on why my team and decided to open Kathy Kuo Home’s first-ever physical retail space there this summer.
Of course, the whole area has so much to offer to full-time residents, summer dwellers, and weekend visitors alike. In order to to help you make the absolute most of your time in the Hamptons this summer, my team and I compiled this handy guide to some of our KKH faves. Obviously, the KKH Southampton store is your first must-do…but here are some additional local gems to check out–from shopping and dining to nature and culture to family-friendly fun.
Southampton
Of course, I have to start with my beloved Southampton for this guide. I’ve been spending summers out here for years and I can’t get enough! My top recommendation is, naturally, Kathy Kuo Home Southampton at 30 Jobs Lane, but once you’ve snapped up all the furniture and decor you could possibly need, there’s plenty of additional shopping, dining, and beach-going to be done.

Westhampton & Quogue
Though technically part of the Town of Southampton, Westhampton has its own distinct vibe. Head to this neck of the woods (or rather, the Island) to enjoy beautiful beach, super-fun boat charters, quaint farm stands, and–of course–more great shopping and dining (and don’t miss a beer tasting at Westhampton Beach Brewing Company if you’re a beer aficionado).

Bridgehampton & Watermill
In the Bridgehampton and Watermill area, one must-do is the famous Parrish Art Museum (if you’re a regular Kuotes reader, you know I love art and discovering new artists to learn about). If self-care day is in order, check out a pop-up workout class from Sweat in the Hamptons, treat yourself to a local wine tasting, and finish your day off with blooms from my fave florist, Millstone Flowers.

Sag Harbor
When it comes to Sag Harbor local gems, Team KKH is oh-so-lucky because one of our Design Team members and her husband are bonafide locals and shared some of their fave spots for inspired living in Sag! I can never resist to two of my favorite women-owned boutiques–Matriark and Joey Wolffer–for boho-luxe style essentials, and I’m told that a chartered boat tour with Captain Anton is a must for all sailing enthusiasts!

East Hampton & Amagansett
The photo above says it all–you absolutely must try a lobster roll from Lunch when you’re in this part of the East End! And when you’re finished, browse for the latest beach reads at BookHampton, stock up on unique jewelry accessories from Love Adorned, and work on your tan at the oh-so-lovely Georgica Beach.

Montauk
You’ve made it to Montauk–the End (of our guide, and of Long Island itself)! If you’re a surfer, I don’t need to tell you about how perfect Montauk is for that its famed beaches, like Ditch Plains. Once the waves have died down. bounce around to some of the region’s hippest locales–Surf Lodge, the Crow’s Nest, Ruchmeyer’s, and Gurney’s. And finally, don’t forget to grab a morning bagel at Goldberg’s–you just might spot Leonardo DiCaprio (like our Kuotes blog editor did a couple summers ago)!
